So, in the process of modifying my 03 Jeep Rubicon, I knew I had to go with Old Man Emu. On my 03 Sport, I had the budget boost with OME Shocks, which I really enjoyed. But this time, I wanted the real thing. I went with the heavy duty spring lift kit and shocks. My Rubicon now has a total of about 4" of lift between the 3" OME Spring lift, and a 1" body lift. I'm currently running 32" tires on 16" wheels, strongly considering going to 35's. It's about ideal for an offroad capable Jeep, while maintaining good road manners.
OME lifts, in my opinion are the best for Jeeps that you plan to keep street legal and drive on-road. The spring lift gives the lift without the punishment. Obviously, that's one of the huge advantages of coils as opposed to the old CJ days of leaf springs.
At this point, I couldn't be happier with my setup now because I get the extra ground clearance and ability to play offroad, but my Rubicon actually drives better onroad than it did with the factory suspension.
